Zaila is a Mechanical Beast that paired up with Danchel in episode 6 of the Mazinger Z anime.
Appearance[]
Zaila is a humanoid Mechanical Beast with noticeable drill-like horns on its head. It is covered in thick armor and the abdomen features a compartment that houses missiles.
Abilities and Equipment[]
Zaila's armor is its core defense, protecting it against projectiles. The horns on its head can be used as drills for close combat. For mid to long-range battle, Zaila uses missiles from its fingers and abdomen as well as energy bolts from its eyes.
History[]
Zaila and Danchel were in a plot to take over the Photon Reasearch Lab, with Zaila rampaging through the city and to distract Mazinger Z while Danchel took over the Photon Lab hidden in the dense fog around it, meanwhile, the air force of th lab try to stop him but its finger missiles finish them all while Mazinger and Aphrodite A came to stop Zaila who attemted to drill both, Mazinger broke Zaila´s horns who in return buried Mazinger in rubble, Koji figured to free his arms and launched the Rocket Punch to trip the fleeing Zaila, then Prof. Yumi and Shiro came and instructed Koji to free Mazinger who then retrieved the Rocket Punch that was holding Zaila´s legs and then Mazinger destroyed Zaila with the Hurricane Rust.
Trivia[]
- Zaila and Danchel are the only Mechanical Beasts that lack a latin letter in number in their names.
- Zaila's roar is a reused Godzilla roar.
- Zaila was one of the Beasts origonally designed by Go Nagai himself, despite it not appearing in the manga run.
