Tetsuya Kawakami is a Japanese animator and character designer from Osaka originally affiliated with Studio Mu. He served as the animation director for several series including A Certain Magical Index, the 2009 Full Metal Alchemist series, and Sword Art Online. In the Mazinger franchise, Ikehata serves as the director and character designer for Robot Girls Z having designed the characters for its precedessor Toei Robot Girls.
