The Photon Gun is a directed-energy weapon powered by Photonic Energy commonly used by the different interpretations of Koji Kabuto. The Photon Gun as well as other similar weapons have appeared throughout the Mazinger franchise when the robots were not available as common sidearms to their wielders. Other Photon weapons are attached to vehicles such as the Pilders or robots such as Mazinger Z.

The Photon Gun is an offensive weapon that shoots a beam of photons at its intended target. The beam is powerful enough to penetrate metal and flesh. A continuous beam is powerful enough to split Gamia Q3 in half.
