Mertazu is a Superhuman Warrior Beast commanded by Marquis Janus that appeared in the Great Mazinger manga.
Appearance[]
As a Superhuman Warrior Beast, Mertazu has a mostly humanoid appearance. Her design somewhat resembles an old scuba diver suit with a gaping hole in the center of her head while having a bulky body. Her true face is located on her chest with a pair of circles with dots in the middle directly below her face.
Abilities[]
Mertazu is able to spray jets of acid through the hole in her head.
History[]
Mertazu first appearance is with a scuttle with Boss Borot. Boss easily prevails, triumphantly standing on top of Mertazu before Great Mazinger could help. However this was all a ruse as Boss was mind controled and hits Great with a missile that was store in his stomach. With Borot no longer needed, Mertazu throws Boss Borot off and proceeds to attack the weakened Great's hand with acid fire from the hole in her head. Tetsuya thinking quickly cut off the Great's right arm before the acid could spread to the rest of the body. He then charged at Mertazu as she sprayed another round of acid. However Great slices off Mertazu's head before any of it hit him.
