Mazinger Z (マジンガーZ Majingā Zetto) is a mecha that appeared in the novel version of Mazinkaiser SKL. In the novel, it acts as leader of a squad composed of itself and mass produced versions of it called the Mazin Brothers.
Appearance[]
Mazinger Z seems to resemble its counterpart from the 1972 TV Version, with a black main body and navy limbs. It features a red Pilder on top of its head and red heat sinks. Despite the overall obvious similarities to the main Mazinger Z, this Mazinger displayed heavy battle damage, riddled with chips, holes, cracks, and missing numerous components of the frame such as it's right eye lens and right Breast Fire heat sink, as well as the plating from it's left antenna.
At some point in its life, it bore a closer resemblance to its Manga counterpart with a white Pilder and black limbs with gold trim. It also welded both a giant SKL Blade and a Mazinger Blade for combat.
Abilities and Equipment[]
While much of its abilities remain a mystery, it is at least capable of the iconic Rocket Punch. It also showed great endurance despite being outmatched by its opponents, able to fight on until the arrival of the Kaiser. At one point it welded both a SKL and Mazinger Blade, and a Reinforced Rocket Punch though it is uncertain if those weapons were still available at its disposal before the events of the novel, or if it received these weapons after being saved by Mazinkaiser SKL.
History[]
Mazinger Z and its squad of Mazin Brothers were fighting an enemy army, but one by one soon became overpowered and fell till few of it's men remained. The Mazinger Z, however, fought on with everything it had until Mazinkaiser SKL arrived with some much needed back-up.
Although the appearance of the titular Super Robot of the franchise is noteworthy, the pilot of this version of Mazinger Z is unknown.
