Jerunicas was a Superhuman Warrior Beast that appeared along with Teotras in episode 52 of the Great Mazinger Anime. His brain was originally Shinichiro Ikuta.

Appearance[]

Jerunicas had mainly black and gray scheme with red outlines, a light green head with black lines and red eyes, a pair of large yellow horns on the side of its head, and his true face of Ikuta is on the center of his chest.

Abilities and Equipment[]

Jerunicas mainly uses the spear he is armed with. Unknown to him, he has an implanted bomb inside his body. He also has the ability of swimming.

Personality[]

Jerunicas mainly uses dialogue to solve things due to Ikuta's will surfacing, he wanted to have peace with the Science Lab. But he will be violent to defend himself if he needs to yet he has no murderous intentions. A good example is when Marquis Janus ordered him to kill Tetsuya, naturally, he declined the order.

History[]

Jerunicas was made with the Process of Fusion when he was in a sense merged with Shinichiro Ikuta after he was captured by Janus. He was sent to the Science Lab to attack but instead tried to make peace with the Lab, having been close friends with Jun Hono in the past.

Janus, enraged, starts the time bomb inside Jerunicas while she's inside the Demonika attacking a power plant. When Great Mazinger can't fight Jerunicas out of respect, Jerunicas goes inside the flying fortress and begins to go on a rampage killing much of the crew before coming to the main control room and discovering Janus, he launches himself at her and smashes his spear into her cockpit, however just before he can strike the final blow he explodes, greatly damaging the Demonika but killing him in the process.

Trivia[]

  • Jerunicas is one of the few Beasts to show resilience to the Empire and die because of it, others being Cleo and Kelvinius.
  • The episode Jerunicas is featured in (especially his fusion with Ikuta) is said to have been a great inspiration to a young Hideaki Anno, who later went on to direct Neon Genesis Evangelion.
