Hades is a Mechanical God with jurisdiction of Earth having lived there for thousands of years after being banished from Olympus. He serves as a major antagonist of Z Mazinger and the benefactor of Dr. Hell.

Appearance[]

Hades is a large demonic entity with multiple horns on his body. His head features eyes in a vertical pattern along with with regular eyes. His chest features a large face with horns and sharp teeth. His overall appearance is similar to Grendizer.

Personality[]

Hades like many Mechanical Gods sees humanity as weak and disposable. He strives to conquer Earth under his rule, using Dr. Hell as a spearhead in his invasion. His cruelty is further exploited when Dr. Hell outlives his usefulness to him; after Dr. Hell fell in battle Hades was unfazed and unwilling to revive him before having his army attack Earth.

Abilities and Equipment[]

As Hades lived on Earth longer than any other Mechanical God, he is more aware of the planet's structure and what goes on the planet such as Zeus's prescence and transformation into Z Mazinger. He also has access to his homeworld's technology able to convert Dr. Hell into a cyborg and control the Mechanical Beasts that are under him.

History[]

Hades for most of the series remained underground giving orders to his subordinate Dr. Hell but was troubled by the appearance of the Z Mazinger. His plans for further attacks had to be halted because of Ares. Soon he ordered Dr. Hell to attack the surface with their deadliest Mechanical Beast Cerberus. As Cerberus caused destruction everywhere it went, Hades had Dr. Hell mobilize an army of Mechanical Beasts to attack the surface. However, due to Artemis shooting arrows at Cerberus' heads it attacked Hell and the army. Hades was forced to have Cerberus self-destruct. But he was unwilling to give up and had the rest of his army attack the surface.

Trivia[]

  • The face on Hades' chest resembles a Mycenae Empire deity that resembled the Grendizer from the manga by Gosaku Ōta.
    • Interestingly enough, Hades himself resembles the Grendizer in a similar vein of how Zeus resembles Mazinger Z.
