Great Mazinger also known as the Prototype Great Mazinger, is a robot pilot by Tetsuya Tsurugi.

Abilities and Powers[]

- Breast Burn: A blast of heat energy from the V-shaped heat sink from the chest.
- Great Boomerang: Throws the heat sink in a boomerang fashion to attack enemies that can cut them in pieces.
- Thunder Break: By stimulating the energy to create lightning, the Great can call down bolts to attack enemies.
Other Equipment[]
Brain Condor[]
The jet-like command center of Great Mazinger. While it is never seen detached from the Great, it is assumed to have the same functions and weapons as the original.
Great Booster[]
A support rocket-like vehicle used for flight. Great Mazinger rides the vehicle in a board-like fashion as it flies across the battlefield.
History[]
A battle against Baron Ashura and his army of Mechanical Beasts took a turn for the worst when enemy reinforcements arrived. Mazinger Z had his Hover Pilder forcibly removed and thrown far away alongside Koji; Aphrodite A and Boss Borot were taken out; and Great Mazinger got his Scramble Dash destroyed and was pinned down. They're rescued by the arrival of the Great Booster, which was being remotely controlled by Jun Hono. However, help arrived too late to prevent Z from being taken away by Ashura's forces.
Back at the Photon Power Laboratory, the robots began being repaired. However, before they could return to full strength, Baron Ashura launched an attack using a modified Mazinger Z, now dubbed Ashura Mazinger, and a few Mechanical Beasts. Still heavily damaged Great, struggled to hold back the enemy forces, only being saved by the arrival of Mazinkaiser.
Mazinkaiser effortlessly defeated Ashura Mazinger and the Mechanical Beasts, but went on to turn his aggressions towards the Photon Power Laboratory. Despite their best efforts, Tetsuya and Great couldn't hold him back. After hearing the calls of his friends, Koji regained counscious and stopped the beserk Mazinkaiser.
As another attack of Mechanical Beasts appeared, the Great was sent into battle again despite everyone's objections. After the Aphrodite A was captured and Koji Kabuto was just about to surrender the Mazinkaiser, the Great Booster arrived for the Great Mazinger to use to take out some of the Mechanical Beasts and free what was left of the Aphrodite A so that the Kaiser could fight back. After the battle was finished, the Great put in storage and was replaced by the final version with Tetsuya's return.
