The Great General of Darkness is a villain that makes a short appearance in Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact! as the next antagonistic force to face the Mazinger Z after the fall of Dr. Hell.
Apperance[]
The Great General's design combines aspects of both his anime and Mazinkaiser design. Donning very black armor with red and gold trim. His cape is colored red with a violet interior and his true face on his chest is designed differently, having blond hair and red sclera compared to past designs where they were usually white. A chain also extends from the left side of his waist.
Abilities[]
While most of the Dark General's abilities have not been seen, he is a powerful force to be reckoned with. His strength and swordsmanship are immense, able to cleave Mt. Fuji in half.
History[]
The Dark General did not appear until the end of the battle between Mazinger Z and Dr. Hell. As Baron Ashura performed a ritual with him/herself as the sacrifice, the Mycenae army along with the Dark General rose from the earth. The Dark General slashes his large sword as it slices Mt. Fuji in half. As Dr. Hell taunts Koji Kabuto that his death only brought a greater disaster that Koji cannot win against, Koji only has the Mazinger combine with the God Scrander and attack with Big Bang Punch. However this turns out be fruitless as shown during the prelude to the second episode; Mazinger Z lays defeated and damaged with a unconscious Koji. What happens afterward is unknown.

Trivia[]
- While the fight against this particular version of the Great General goes mostly unresolved in the Shin Mazinger anime, three different Super Robot Wars games make him into a major boss - he is the final antagonist for Shin Mazinger Z's plot in Super Robot Wars BX while serving as the second-in-command to the Emperor of Darkness in Super Robot Wars V and Super Robot Wars X.
- In these games, while he displays most of his typical traits in other incarnations (total loyalty to Mycenae, pride as a warrior, etc), he and Tetsuya Tsurugi develop a respect for each other as warriors, and find each other to be worthy opponents. Upon the Great General's death, Tetsuya acknowledges that the Great General was, for Mycenae, a great hero.
