Banta Arano is the son of the Arano Ranch owner, a neighbor to the Makiba Ranch. He is a classmate of Hikaru Makiba in Yasugatake High school. Similar to Boss, he served as comic relief for most of his appearances.
Appearance[]
Banta is a gruff young man with a strong build, as part of helping on the ranch. He has black curly hair, black eyes, thin eyebrows, a lock jaw, and a nose with exposed nostrils. His clothing chiefly consists of a brown sombrero with yellow and red triangle decorations and a shirt with four colors perpendicular to each other, giving him the nickname "Four Color Flag" by Koji Kabuto.
Personality[]
Banta is displeased with his family ranch's state of underdevelopment compared to the Maikba Ranch. At times he has to feed the livestock the crops and stock from the Makiba Ranch, but he has no ill will towards the Makiba family. He has an ill temper, especially when it concerns his or the Makiba family's ranch but often makes a fool of himself.
History[]
Banta would make regular appearances for the first parts of the series, usually at school or his family ranch whenever the Vegan Empire made their attacks. At times, he was accused of using the Makiba family's resources for his livestock in secrets, which turned out to be true in some cases. Banta was not seen for the rest of the series by the second half.
