Achilles is a Warrior Beast in the Army Intelligence group. He served as the monster-of-the-week in episode 28 of the Great Mazinger anime.
Appearance[]
Achilles is a humanoid Warrior Beast adorned in unique body armor covering him from head to toe. It has a black chest plate with a light green outline, arm bands with open mouthed faces, the left shoulder has armor with a face on it, the right shoulder has a red hole on it, the torso has red scale armor, a light blue belt with a black outline and its purple real face on its front. On the lower body, it wears a burgundy skirt with a light green outline, and limbs colored dark blue. Its head wears a helmet with bat-like wings on the side of its head and on the forehead emblem while the lower face is covered by a grilled mask. It has glowing yellow eyes.
Abilities and Equipment[]
Achilles mainly uses a sword that is held in his right shoulder for combat. The sword can release bolts of heat energy at enemies aside from being used as a close combat weapon. The faces on its wrists can release flames as well as energy beams. The "rings" in his fingers can release lasers. It can also release bats from its left shoulder that allow it to distract enemies. Achilles main strength however is his invulnerability with any attack being impervious to him. His only weak area is near his true face.
Personality[]
Achilles was somewhat smug and overconfident because of his invulnerability, one point trapping a missile Robot Junior launched with his mouth and returned the favor as a means of showing off.
History[]
Marquis Janus was threatening Great Mazinger to come out and fight until Achilles appeared and made the Great Mazinger fall in a hole with lava. Tetsuya managed to have the Great cling onto a rock but was otherwise trapped by Achilles stomping on the Great's hand which only made matters worse as lava was beginning to rise. Venus A showed up to help but had trouble with Achilles even with later help by Robot Junior and Boss Borot. After Great Mazinger was free thanks to the others distracting Achilles, he stabbed Achilles right above the real face and with help of Venus he led a Thunder Break into the body causing Achilles to explode.
Trivia[]
- Achilles was invulnerable with a weak spot being the area above the real face in a manner similar to his namesake.
